So long 2006...Bring on 2007!!!

2007
Happy happy New Year to you all. I hope you all have a wonderful year filled with lots of success, happiness, wealth health and wildness!

So I'd like to pose this question to y'all... Who had the biggest year? Music, film, paparazzi, red-carpet, anorexic celebs, babies all included.

:::My list:::

1. Justin Timberlake and his second solo album, FutureSex/LoveSoundsfantastic! Still continues to fly off the selves. He did it, he brought Sexyback.

2. Nelly Furtado completely re-invented her sound and her image... hotness "hotcity". She gave us songs like Promiscous and Maneater and in general had such a wonderful year, well done Nelly.

3. Timberland aka Timothy Z. Mosley worked with both of the above as well as Ludacris, the Pussycat Dolls and Jay Z is by far in my opinion the hotest music producer this year!!

4. Shiloh, Suri, Kingston and Moses... just four of the most famous newborns this year has welcomed. They're probably more loaded than a lot of us plebs...

5. K-Fed/ Fed-Ex... what a winner. seriously! Get this he'll be taking on one of the biggest wrestlers next week in WWE. In his little address to the world he said as of tomorrow he won't be known as K-Fed anymore but rather Kevin Federline... OOOh he's so scary.

6. The Famous Feudsters- Paris, Nicole and Lindsay. Friends, enemies, friends, enemies... who knows what'll happen next year. My one thought is... what besides posing on the red carpet, having a famous dad and "staring" in a reality show oh and losing a tone of weight (naturally) does Nicole Richie have to show for herself?

7. The biggest break-up- and shocker at that- Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philipe.. I guess her Oscar win intimidated him somewhat, can't remember the last film he was in.

8. And finally the big musicians who sadly passed away this year... Lebo Mathosa, TK, Redd Angel and James Brown. May you all rest in peace.

Well that's what stood out for me this year... Share? entertain those hangovers with some light-hearted mindless entertainment. As mentioned above I hope you all have a wondeful year!

How hex is this???

So Saddam Husein is dead... was it fair/ not fair? I don't really care. He was no saint, but to be dead honest (pardon the pun) I'm not into that... So to go with the theme of my blog, entertainment I want to share this little "playlist" I found on the net, dedicated solely to Saddam. It's off the Rolling Stone website:

Saddam Hussein asked us to create the soundtrack to his execution shindig this weekend. Thoughts?

Dead Man Walking- Bruce Springsteen
25 Minutes to Go- Johnny Cash
Gallows Pole- Led Zeppelin
Let Him Dangle- Elvis Costello
Hang On- Teenage Fanclub

The site ask for thoughts, I'd like to know your thoughts as well cause I think it's kinda harsh, regardless of whether he was evil or not, but then it is entertainment yeah?

Oh and ps I'm desperately looking for J Lo, who is in Aspen... Jokes not desperately searching, but I'll holla if I get s sneak-peak. Rae says she's amazingly gorgeous... or to quote her "Hot city, she's hot city!!!" Happy pre- new year's all, may it be a wonderful year, filled with goodness and happiness, success and wildness!

Oh and pps... I went to see The Pursuit of Happyness- and the spelling isn't wrong btw. The movie stars Will Smith; a down-and out father desperately trying to make ends meet. I think this is Will's most convincing and outstanding performance in a leading role that might just scoop him his second Oscar nomination. Go check it out, it's dam good.

Silly season

So it's been a while since my last post, but that's not because there isn't much to say... it's just been narly, hectically busy. I don't think I have ever wrapped so many presents in my life and people get picky hey, geez louise. One person asked me to start again because there were too many creases in the wrapping. I politely told her to come back in half an hour so that I could do it perfectly, she opted for wrapping her own prezzies. Lazy biaatch!

On Wednesday night I was at work- with three other South Africans- talking to one of my managers Belle. She and her hubbie really wanna come to South Africa, and it would make sense to come seeing as though she knows so many of us. Anyway we started talking about the problems in the country- I tried my best to stay out of it, but when this one girl mentioned that if you stick with the South Africans you won't be affected by the crime. How Naive? How stupid? I've never met her but I snapped. I was like listen yes there is crime in the country but there's crime in the States (911, Columbine shootings, OJ killings) and in the UK (various murders of little girls, 07/07/05) So it happens most places. And this just reminds me of the dude Nic mentioned; who posted about how SA sucks on his blog with the same title. To all you stupid knobs out there if you have something bad to say about South Africa keep it to your own personal conversations with your fellow SA haters. Dont go talking about it to those who are interested in the country, it only paints a bleek picture about South Africa. That isn't fair and look I know there are problems, but there are positives too... Table Mountain, the Drankensberg, Summer actually out climate, our friendly natured people the list is endless. So in future look for the positives, PLEASE!!! And by the way Belle is still keen to come cause she knows how narrow-minded some individuals are!

Now that that is off my chest yesterday i literally had a run in with the paparrazi. I have never seen anything like it, how they tracked Heidi Klum and her party down and followed them just to get that perfect picture. I was taking boxes into the shop when I saw Heidi's little girl and I presume her grandmother in the doorway. The little girl looked flabogasted and astounded, probably not quite sure what was going on, so Jason to the rescue- GEt this- says to them including Heidi "Do you want me to close the door? While blocking the photographers view of the family with a big box, how blind? But I really felt the invasion of privacy so I wanted to offer my help. I understand that heidi has chosen a lifestyle that requires a lot of media attention, but for crying in a bucket them kids didn't... so respect them papa dudes! Needless to say it all worked out when one of the photographers was hit in the face witha snowball, justice.

Then does anyone know George Hamilton? Like parents wise? Cause I recognised the face but still can't place him... so if you know who he is just to let you know I served him yesterday. Nice chap and he thanked me for making things so quick and painless. His 7year-old needed everything for skiing so ya. Laura traula has just seen and served Nicolette Sheridan aka Eedi from Desperates and Francois is back wif his wife and kieeds. So that's Aspen as it stands. I wanna wish you all a Merry merry Christmas, or a happy Hannukah or whatever else you may be celebrating. I hope you have a goodie!

All is calm... all is well- Xmas spirit

Hello from a snowy Aspen, Colorado... At work at the moment, I'm so bored of working but it has picked up so I aint sitting around. First of all- I am no longer homeless. The wish and plee to the masses to pray, chant, wish goodness and homely thoughts came true- so thank you, thank you from my warm 3/4bed. I am based in the house I've been in for the last two weeks, so consider it an extended stay... at a reasonable price. Thank the pope. Honestly didn't know what to do about the lack of house, but that's a thing of the past.

Then I went boarding on well: Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. I am surprised at how well I'm doing- not to blow my own horn or anything; hahaha. But here's a vid clip, short and sweet...

Then Ms Heidi Klum, or should I say Mrs Seal?? came in yesterday... with all three kids and a little entourage. The little girl is adorable and seemingly fluent in German and English. Seal and Heidi's first child together is also so very cute, so good too. The little one was fast asleep so now sneak peaks of him as yet. But Heidi is great, pretty and friendly too. Pity everything she asked for we don't stock in the store, but I'm sure she'll be back. Oh by the way click on her name and check out her Christmas song- getting loads of airplay here!!!

Then... I am a qualified educated former student. Hope all of you did well if you are/were studying? So that's it- when I get back to S.A... I will be officially unemployed. So Who's gonna offer this lad a job? Jokes. Anyway Kadie, Lau and myself celebrated royally. Needless to say yesterday wasn't pretty... But I survived to tell the story.

That's me news atm... Golden Globe nominations are out. Looks like Leonardo is gonna win an award for his acting skills. Lets' wait and see.. The awards take place in L.A on the 15th of January. I'll get to more entertainment stories soon, but for now I'm out! Later

One of them days...

So I've been here for nine days. It's been awesome, meeting people... getting freebies, lovely and almost abnormally warm (ish) weather. But one thing that I just can't seem to stop thinking about is the fact that as of next week Friday I have nowhere to stay. Aspen is full, well just about... the rest of the available places rent for roughly $8000 a month. That's like oh sure please pass on your bank details and I'll sort you out as soon as I can- NOT! And all of us are desperate to live here and not down valley... reasons:
1. The commuting is a bitch. Early mornings, late nights and that's just getting to work. Imagine a big snowstorm. Imagine going out in Aspen. It's painful.
2. It costs money, duh. But between 7am and 16:30 it's free. I finish work at 20:00, go figure.
3. It all happens in Aspen, all four skiing mountains are in close proximity...

I'm whining I know, but this is me blog. I know beggers can't be choosers, but if anyone thinks I'm a good person send some good housing energies my way- PLEASE.

So to the point of this post. It's been a shit day, started work at 9 been working ever since. Unpacking boxes and putting all the goods in a store that is full aint fun. So that's been my day, and I was secretely hoping it would end soon so I can start tomorrow fresh. Well enter Ms Jodie Foster and my day gets a little brighter. She is one of the nicest celebs I've met and seen in Aspen to date. So thank you for bringing some light to the day Ms Foster. YAY for first celeb spotting. As we build up to Christmas I bet there'll be more, so stay tuned. Ok now that my moaning moment is over I hope y'all are well. Hello Ms Jen Thorpe. Good to hear from you friend, work hard k and keep in touch.

Grammy 2007 nominees

The 49th Annual Grammy Awards take place on the 11th of February 2007. What started off as just another great album from Mary J. Blige, to what is now a leading contender and already award-winning album from the R&B queen. She leads the nominations with a massive 8 knodds- including Record of the year. Go Mary. Last week she walked away with several Billboard Awards, that after her success at the American Music Awards. Other nominees include the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, NeYo, Pink, Justin Timberlake and the Brits- James "Whiny" Blunt, Natasha Bedingfield, Katie Tunstall and Corinne Bailey Rae. Who's missing? My girl- Nelly Furtado... one nomination. I think that's a load of pig shit, but anyway that's me I suppose. For a full list of the nominees click here..

What I want from the States

Ok so thanks y'all for your comments... I cant wait for my day off. I'm hitting the slopes on Wednesday. Greek I know it's gonna make you jealous hahahahaha, but Jen will be there to keep ya comapy so you'll be ok. Ola Gregor, how's CC buddy? I look forward to seeing your work online dog. VErge working world? Nah I agree that's why I'm delaying it by four months.. When you heading to Thailand? Wierd we'll both be on opposite sides of the globe so you keep us posted too k.

Anyway back to me, hahaha. Ok so there are five things I want to do or see in my time in the States; my little Christmas prezzie to meself:
1. Los Angelas- so I can get discovered, hahahaha jokes
2. New York City- So that the TRL peops can finally put me on air, hahahaha
3. Florida- Just cause I gotta
4. My girl Nelly Furtado- Gotta see her perform
5. Justin Timberlake as he embarks on his Furture.Sex.Love.Sounds tour across the States. That's all is that too much to ask?? Oh and an Apple Notebook

If you in SA dont know what to buy peoples check this out:

I love Soul Candi, the guys involved there make some killer music... So go support local stuff.

Ok so in some entertainment news, Nelly Furtado and Kylie Minogue are in talks to collaborate on a new song. How interesting is that? In a recent interview Nelly said that she admires Kylie for bouncing back after her battle with breast cancer, and that both of them seem to share an equal work ethic. Well that is something to look forward to next year. Something to look forward to tonight is the annual Billboard Music Awards. Here's a couple of the nominees:

Artist of the year:
Chris Brown
Nickelback
Rascal Flatts

Male artist of the year:
Chris Brown
Ne-Yo
Sean Paul

Aspen has arrived... again!!!

So it's been almost ten months since I left this little town (Aspen) for sunny South Africa, and just like that time flew... and here I am again. The snow is falling, temperatures are low and well I'm now well into my working/ snowboarding holiday. Had a really long flight to London on Wednesday night, oh the joys of economy class, knees in one's back oh and the lady in front of me seemed determined to lie horizontally as she kept pressing her beloved seat back.. HAHA I was having none of it, eventually she kinda caught my drift, blarie stoopidr. Kadie and myself then went throught passpost control to meet a dear dear fwend Jenwynne. So so cool to have brekkie, coffee and company with my wonderful buddy, but also wierd as it was on the other side of the world...still baffles me.

THEN a quick bye bye as we boared our flight to Denver, Colorado. Wow now that was wierd. Check this out. We left London at 13:30 pm (UK time) for Denver 7 hours away on a 9hour flight... and we arrived at 16:30 (USA time), strange to anyone else??? It is to me, and I'm still struggling, but getting there :)

Now we're in Aspen and I'm working at my two jobs again Helly Hansen, a store that stocks some of the best ski wear on the market. I get great discounts... I then also work at Short Sport, a toy shop... hopefully Heidi and Seal- among others- will come in soon. Will keep y'all posted.

The only shittie thing about this place is the housing situation, or lack thereof. We're cool for two weeks, and then... well ... homeless. so anyone in the area know of accommodation, holla... help a brother out! Ok well that's me news, more to follow as well as the best in entertainment news. Bye
