Happiness is...

I am exhausted, bored of this working stuff... but I don't think it helps to complain so here's my list of reasons to feel good!

1. I have three weeks left of working! Retail really isn't all that rewarding... in fact it's damn boring! So it's just about over and I'm happy!
2. I am going to Las Vegas, Miami, New York City and London before returning to Johannesburg, and this all happens within two weeks! Sooooo excited
3. Sean Paul is in town. He performs live tonight as part of the Honda Ski tour.
4. It's warming up. Snow is good, for about a month... It then starts melting, it gets slippery and well it gets painful... except if you're snowboarding ;)
5. Without giving anything away... Grey's Anatomy still rocks and exists!
6. My Amazon stuffs arrived. I've started collecting DVDS, so at the mo... I have Lost, Greys, Desperate housewives seasons one and two, as well as a JT, Madonna and now Natasha Bedingfield live shows... Good times!
7. The Oscars are on tomorrow night. Dreamgirls, The Queen and Babel I predict will be big winners!

So that's me atm... happy, smiling and grinning. Have yourselves an awesome wend peops! And check out this video, great song and huge here too. It's former Idols star Chris Daughtry with It's Not Over. Love it, Peace

Brit's Bald Statement...

When you hear the name Britney Spears what do you think of? Hot, young teenager who broke out and blew away millions with her smash hit song "Hit Me baby One More Time"? Do you think of her making out on stage with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards? Do you think of her as the idiot who married K Fed, popped out two kids in two years and sent him packing last year? Or do you think of her being the one who always seemed to be photographed in compromising position? (One instance she was photgrpahed flashing hit bits to the world) Well the one common denominator in all of these statements is that Brit is never short of controversy. In fact I reckon that should be her middle name.

So while everyone watches with baited breath to see what else she can conjure up or whether she'll blow us away with another huge album, she seems to be carrying on with her wierd ways. Brit reportedly checked herself into rehab this week, citing that it was time to get her life in order. That lasted less than 24hours. And if that wasn't enough the popstar/mom was spotted at a tatoo parlour yesterday sporting her new hairstyle... wait for it, it's an amazing new doo. She's bald!!!! Has she lost the plot or is she just letting go of all the bad energies and karma? You decide... This is what she looks like... hmmmm!

A few Questions...

What is it about a television series that makes on fall completely "in love" with it? How do we become so obsessed with the characters, their lives and the many unfolding narratives. What is it the brings us to tears when something horrid and unexpected happens or on the flip side when something good happens? Those are a couple of questions running through my head at the moment. I'm not giving anything away but last night's episode of Grey's Anatomy was one of those moments, where nobody expects it and you find yourself going "oh please no... not that". Lost is just as bad, if not worse and Desperate Housewives is never short of entertainment and interesting plots and twists... If you're a Greys fan... Losing Denny or seeing that guy getting blown up by the bomb doesn't even come close to what happens in this episode... I look forward to chatting and hearing your thoughts on this! PS I can't wait for next week's episode!!! To quote my dear friend Carls "I'm Plutzing"

Awards season continues

Something that is making huge news here in the States is the death of Former Playmate Anna Nicole Smith. She passed away on Thursday after apparently collapsing in her Florida hotel room. Despite the rumour mill buzzing with allegations of substance abuse, investigaters say that were no traces of illegal substances found in the her room. Doctors say that it'll take up to five weeks to determine the cause of Smith's untimely death. It really is a sad story and end to an already difficult life... I'll keep ya posted with any updates that become available.

Tonight sees the biggest night in music, The Grammys!!!! Yay. Sting and the Police will after four years reunite tonight to open the spectacle, which should be amazing. Also set to perform are Mary J.Blige, Christina Aguilera, James Blunt, Ludacris, Beyonce, John Legend and Gnarls Barkley... enough said, bring it!

Oh advice please.. So Christina is performing in Denver, four hours from here but manageable... on the 26th of this month. Now she'll be amazing to see, but what really caught my eye was the opening act for Xtina! The Pussycat Dolls, hotcity!!! and Danity Kane, they're P Diddy's little all girl group, not as good as the PCD's but how fun would that be? So the question is YES or NO? Help a brother out. Enjoy the Grammys peops!

HEX!

Breaking news right now... Wow I actually cannot believe this... Anna Nicole Smith is dead. She died after reportely collapsing this morning in her Florida hotel this morning. She was 39. How terrible is this? This comes to light just five month after the sudden death of her 20year-old son last year and now her? I'm utterly shocked; can't believe this. One of the worst things about her death is that she has a five month-old baby girl too, which also caused her some misery with issues about the paternity of the the little one... Who knows perhaps the pressure and stress was just too much for her? More to follow in this story for sure!!

Is my white, cold winter over???

Today I slept through my alarm... why? I dunno, who does? But it was fine because I only started work at 1pm, and I got up at 9. So much for oversleeping. Anyway I had a couple of errands to run around town, so off I went. When I got outside I was overwhelmed by this strange warmth in the air. I mean hello it's Feb, surely there's still more cold to come. It's 40degrees fahrenheit... that's hot... HERE. That converts to roughly 10degrees celsius, nice hey?? But it made me happy, walking around town with the sun on my now abnormally pale face, taking my jacket off and not feeling absolutely freezing. I love it, and it actually makes me miss the warm SA climate and summer. Don't get me wrong Aspen is still cool, but sludgy snow aint!

So along with the melting snow there's definitely been a lack of high-profile people in town of late. I did however see Jeremy Irons walking around the other day. I couldn't quite place him in any film but the Man in the Iron Mask, but if I'm not mistaken he always plays the kinda... well wierd characters not so?? Help a brother out. I do know he did the voice for Scar in the Lion King. Anyway he was here, not that exciting but I'm sure there'll be others soon enough. 5days to the Grammys, whoohoo!! One day to the new episode of Lost, FINALLY!!! And tomorrow I have a day off so I shall be snowboarding, and I shall be taking my camera up, so stay tuned for some interesting snapshots!!!
Oh and PS I be happy... My girl, Nelly Furtado is #1 with Say It Right right here in the USA!!! Whoa Nelly, brilliant! I'd really love to see her live in concert, or in person... one day. Ok talking shit now ok bye!

Who's your DreamGirl??

Well-known website AskMen.com has just released their annual list of the 99 Most desireable women in entertainment. Wanna know who most men, and some women love and desire? Here's the top ten for y'all:

10. Elisha Cuthbert
9. Angelina Jolie
8. Maria Menounos
7. Shakira
6. Alessandra Ambrosio
5. Jessica Biel
4. Andrianna Limo
3. Jessica Alba
2. Scarlett Johannson

AND NOW FOR NUMBER ONE:

The lovely, the talented... Beyonce. Now many of you out there will disagree with me but I think she is absolutely 100% deserving of this title. She's slimmed down and looks amazing; released a second big solo album called B'Day; can dance like a demon, and is so convincing in her new film Dreamgirls. In fact I'm actually surprised she didn't crack the knodd for a Golden Globe or an Oscar... So well done to Beyonce! Askmen.com said: "Beyoncé's accomplishments over the last year have helped skyrocket her from last year's No. 50 position to the coveted No. 1 spot and deservedly so. Beyoncé not only proves that she looks great on the red carpet, but she demonstrates that she actually deserves to be on it." Too too true!!! Plus she's been number one in the USA with her smash hit Irreplaceable for a massive 8weeks. I love that song, I would though!

You should do yourselves a favour and go and see Dreamgirls, if you haven't already. It really is good, and I don't usually like musicals but it is fab!! Jennifer Hudson- third season of American Idol- Yoh but she is good, it's not hard to understand why she's receiving such grand reviews. Is the Oscar hers? I reckon it could be...
